Roof Trusses

Preparing for the roof and definitely one of the more exciting stages of construction. The roof trusses were delivered on the day we started an even wetter spell than we had had all of May. Josh and his crew were fabulous and not phased by inclement weather. They did not stop for rain and put in long days.

Lots of photos to monitor progress. Each truss placement developed a new look to the house.

This photo reflects the vaulted ceilings in the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom.

I was just a teeny bit concerned about the safety precautions taken by the crew These guys are good and moved across the roof like gazelles. Please tell my husband not to try this!

The yellow fork lift was an essential rental item to assist with hoisting sheathing onto the trusses. It saved a few backs as the crew did not have to carry each 4' x 8' plywood sheet by hand up the ladder. Sarah still managed to put her back out again from the ground level just watching the weeds grow! More ice, soft drugs and a trip to the massage therapist!
